In the heartland of Bihar, amidst the towering peaks of the seismic cataclysm of 1934, where the earth trembled and shifted beneath the towns of Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, Munger, Katihar, and Sitamarhi—areas that bore the brunt of its devastation—lives were irrevocably transformed, and the fates of individuals were inexorably entwined within the seismic turmoil.
In the village, Dumaria, a narrative unfolds as a tale of two Zamindars embroiled in a fierce rivalry, where one, having lost everything, seeks to regain his stature at any cost, even to the extent of contemplating the unthinkable: offering his daughter to the high rank officers for a night's respite- Dolly Lohtamia—a resilient Rajput girl.
1934- Tremor of Fates; an odyssey delves deep into her extraordinary journey through the rowdy aftermath of the Bihar earthquake that not only altered the physical landscape but also the very essence of Dolly Lohtamia’s soul. Her life takes a dramatic turn as she is thrust into the limelight. A woman, who miraculously survived being buried beneath the rubble for three harrowing days, emerges as the beacon of hope for the villagers, guiding them to resurrect their lives from the ruins.
In the backdrop of a pivotal juncture in history—the 1937 Bihar assembly elections; competing parties challenging the dominance of the Indian Democratic Alliance (IDA) looked for a charismatic figure to court the favour of the affluent, the privileged, the bureaucrats, and the elite electorate; Dolly Lohtamia rises as a formidable contender; as a voice of change in a political arena dominated by giants and under the watchful eye of the British overlords. But the price of newfound power proves to be a nightmare she regretted.
However, her life was not one of solitary struggle, but intertwined with that of her love, Veer Pratap Chauhan—wrongly branded as a traitor, forced to eke out an existence in the depths of the Patli forests of Sitamarhi from where he waged an arduous battle for the freedom of his country against the Colonial governance. Dolly finds herself at a crossroads, compelled at gunpoint to beseech Veer to surrender, allowing him at least a chance to live behind bars.
Students, industrial labourers, and the agrarian population rallied behind the anti-colonial gang Mitti ke Putra' led by Veer Pratap Chauhan, who tapped into simmering resentment against colonial rule stoked by the echoes of the 'Disobedience Movement,' the 'Rowlett Act,' and the infamous 'Jallianwala Bagh' massacre.
Dolly Lohtamia is eventually expelled out of the party. Her efforts to protect her love through political influence prove to be futile, prompting her to seek help from someone from landing into the prison.
'1934- Tremor of Fates' unfolds the indomitable human spirit's ability to emerge from the wreckage of devastation, confronting both political and personal adversaries.
